There are a plethora of ways to practice self-care, my favorite being skincare routines! I have always been picky about what I put on my face, all the more reasons why I decided to publish my skincare routine. I have never struggled with cystic acne, but I am human and struggle with a flare-up here and there. Here are some of the products I use to mitigate symptoms.
I Swear by Lush. Lush cosmetics are almost entirely vegan (some products are vegetarian). Lush offers many skincare, bubble-bath, and beauty products to help you feel your best. I am a particular fan of the Karma soaps collection. The rich cinnamon scent is enough for me to buy it in every form: perfume, soap, wash card, et. I am very excited for the Manhattan location to restock the solid perfumes.
I love Ashanti Body Butters. My sister is seriously the best. My sister Kara bought me these fantastic vegan body butters she found on the web, and they are nothing short of amazing. Ashanti Body Butters come in every scent and color imaginable, leaving a non-sticky, smooth appearance on the skin.
I love the Vanicream Moisturizer. I have been on the hunt for a trustworthy, hydrating moisturizer for the longest time. I love this product in combination with my cleanser below. I follow a very low-maintenance routine that proves sustainable through everyday life. The cream is neither too sticky nor tough.
I love the Kale Superfood Cleanser. In a non-diet culture way, this product is incredible. I was a little questioning at the sight of "superfood cleanser," but it earns much more praise than I could give it.
I love the hyperbiotics probiotic toothpaste. This is one of the pricier items on the list. I decided to include it in a skincare routine because it is a quintessential part of my self-care. The toothpaste is charcoal and contains lots of healthy probiotics to "promote healthy mouth flora, fresher breath, and whiter teeth, naturally". This product does not contain fluoride, preservatives, or artificial additives.
I hope you enjoyed this article and it could have been of help! From one teenager (possibly) to another, I know flare-ups can feel overwhelming at times, but it is essential to remember the universality of these feelings. I getcha; I really do. This post is not sponsored in any way. Thanks for reading, and I'll catch you in the next article,
Jessica S.
