  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda

  • ½ a teaspoon of salt

Brownie Layer:

  • ½ cup of vegan salted butter

  • 1 cup of bone-char free white sugar

  • 1 tablespoon of Singing Dog Vanilla Extract (GF, Vegan), or a vanilla extract of choice

  • 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed meal

  • 6 tablespoons of water

  • ½ cup of GF and Vegan All-Purpose Flour

  • ⅓ cup of cocoa powder

  • ½ teaspoon of baking powder

  • ¾ teaspoons sea salt

Preparation Time:

This recipe should take about an hour and a half, with preparation time making no more than ten minutes per layer.

Servings and Calories:

This recipe makes twelve brownies, each containing an estimated 421.75 calories per serving. The calorie content will vary depending on the ingredients and products used.

Directions:

Step 1. Preheat your oven to 350° F and spray your 9x9’’ pan.

Step 2. Prepare the brownie layer first. Before we whisk the ingredients together, activate your two flax eggs. You can do this by mixing together your ground flaxseed meal with your six-tablespoons of water. Let this chill in the refrigerator for fifteen minutes looking for a thickened consistency.

Step 3. Whisk together your brownie ingredients. When using the salted vegan butter, melt it for fudgier, creamier brownies. Combine the butter, white sugar, vanilla extract, flax eggs (2), all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sea salt. Whisk on high for five minutes. Hold this aside.

Step 4. Prepare the cookies. In a large mixing bowl, use your stand-mixer or whisk to cream your melted vegan butter, light brown sugar, and white sugar together.

Step 5. Remember to activate your flax egg! Combine 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed meal with 2 tablespoons of water and chill for fifteen minutes.

Step 6. Slowly introduce the remaining cookie ingredients. Stirring / mixing these ingredients, add your chocolate chips as your final ingredient.

Step 7. After spraying or greasing your pan, pour in your brownie batter just around the midpoint of your pan. Then, scoop your cookie dough and flatten it enough to sit above your brownie batter. Gently place strips and flattened dough above the batter.

Step 8. Bake your brownies for thirty to thirty-five minutes, looking for a golden-brown appearance. If you want more fudgy brownies, the toothpick method of readiness will not work in your favor.

Step 9. Cool the brownies before serving and enjoy!
