Chocolate Baked Oats!

Baked Oats are the latest health craze on social platforms like Tiktok and Youtube. Here’s how to make a more healthy, but delicious breakfast for weeks to come!


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of rolled oats

  • 1 cup of plant-based milk

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed meal

  • 3 tablespoons of water

  • ½ teaspoon of baking powder

  • 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder

  • *1 teaspoon of chia seeds

  • *1 square of dark chocolate / dairy-free chocolate of choice

*optional, but recommended


Preparation Time:

The preparation time is about ten minutes, while the cooking time is fifteen to twenty minutes. Hence, the total time is about thirty minutes give or take.


Servings and Calories:

This recipe prepares one serving of oats. Each serving/package contains 367 calories. The calorie content will vary depending on the ingredients and products used.


Directions:

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350° F and grease/spray your ramekin.



Step 2. Activate your flax egg. Mix one tablespoon of ground flaxseed meal with three tablespoons and chill for fifteen minutes in the refrigerator, until thickened.



Step 3. In a blender or food processor, combine all ingredients until completely blended. This does not include the chocolate square that would otherwise be placed before baking.



Step 4. Transfer the oatmeal to the ramekin and place your square or toppings on the top of the mixture. Bake for fifteen-t0-twenty minutes and use the toothpick method to determine readiness.



Step 5. Chill for five to ten minutes before serving and enjoy!
